5 Videos To Watch This Week On YouTube!

Hi everyone! 🙂

It is that time of the week again and with the US election, what a week it has been! Here is my five video suggestions this week:

Politics

With everything which has been going on this week there is quite a few political videos in the mix. This video from TEDEd explains the electoral college system for y’all with animations.

Staying with politics, here is a history lesson from Vox about the history of the Republican Party and how it has changed from the time of former president Abraham Lincoln to the time of former president Donald Trump (I couldn’t resist but it is pretty certain now thankfully! :-)). A really interesting watch with a lot of information packed in here.

This is an interview by Bob The Drag Queen with Tiktoker Christian Walker who is black, gay and a Trump supporter. In the interview many issues are discussed like racism and Covid-19. A really interesting watch and Bob is just such a great interviewer.

Make-Up/Drag

In the final episode of Bob The Drag Queen’s Addams Family Series, Bob does a make-up tutorial inspired by Wednesday Addams. Fantastic as always! Have absolutely loved this series. The amazing dress for the look was provided by Elias Matso, a young creative who appears in the video.

Music

Quite an apt song for the week which has been in it while we have all been waiting for those final tallies to come in! It is also just a really great song with a great message and music video. I present to you all Coldcut featuring Lisa Stansfield with People Hold on.

5 Videos To Watch This Week On YouTube!

Hi everyone! 🙂

It’s that time of the week again! Here is my five video suggestions for this week:

TV/Music

In this really interesting video, reigning Eurovision winner Duncan Laurence talks about his experiences since winning the contest last year. I could very much relate to what he was saying about coming from a small town.

Music

Kill The Lights by Alex Newell & DJ Cassidy with Nile Rodgers is just so good to dance to! The beat is amazing, Alex’s voice is sensational and this video is just perfect too. I dare you all not to dance to this! 🙂

TV

I was reading about this new show It’s A Sin which is set to air in 2021 on Channel 4. I am definitely excited to watch this. Russell T Davis is an absolute writing genius and an early inspiration to me as a writer though I am nowhere near as good as him. I love Years & Years and seeing Olly Alexander from the band is in this is really cool. He’s a really good actor too. I remember he was brilliant in Skins. I love the Pet Shop Boys too so everything really works for me here. The cast looks amazing in general and the story is incredibly important too. Below is the trailer for the show:

Make-Up/Drag

Here the amazingly talented season 8 winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Bob The Drag Queen (and I have seen Bob live at Christmas Queens in the past and she was superb that night) doing her Aunt Fester version of Uncle Fester from the Addams family. Really great make-up and really great costume by Bob’s drag daughter Free the Drag Queen.

Drag Performances

From one amazingly talented Drag Race winner to another, this is Aquaria’s first show which took place in Mexico City following her win on RuPaul’s Drag Race season 10. Everything about her show here I just adored and the support acts were really amazing too.

5 Videos To Watch This Week On YouTube!

Hi everyone! 🙂

It is that time of week again. Here is my five video suggestions this week:

Music

First up is Luther Vandross’ Stop To Love. This song is mine and my sister’s favourite Luther Vandross track. It is a really great bop and the video is brilliant, wonderfully cheesy and the whole way the standing on the vehicles thing was done was really cool.

Next we have X Factor semi-finalist Brendan Murray’s cover of Harry Styles’ Watermelon Sugar. Produced by Dylan Connolly, I think it’s a really great version of the track and the video is great too.

This is Gladys Knight’s bond theme License To Kill. Bond themes often have that amazing dramatic vibe to them and this song and music video are no expection to that. Wonderful. I love the song, a pure classic. Gladys voice is superb on it and I adore her outfit in the video.

Sport

This is a classic English Grand National from 1973 where Crisp was narrowly bet by a fast-finishing Red Rum who ended up making history by winning three English Grand Nationals. Amazing race made especially by two brilliant horses. R.I.P. to the amazing Grey Sombrero.

Make-Up

In this excellent tutorial, beauty influencer Jackie Aina does a stunning soft glam look using inexpensive products. Absolutely incredible look.

5 Videos To Watch This Week!

It is that time of week again y’all! 🙂 Here are five picks to watch this week! 🙂

History

In this episode of Geographics, the history of The Cecil Hotel is investigated where many tragic incidents have happened over the years. A very interesting episode. I had heard a bit about the horrific history of The Cecil Hotel prior to watching the episode but learned so much more here.

Fashion

I love 60s fashion. It is one of my favourite decades from fashion history so this video was great.

In this episode of Out Of The Closet, RuPaul’s Drag Race runner-up Peppermint (highest placed female contestant in Drag Race herstory, you go girl! :-)) shows us some of her amazing fashion. A really interesting watch which looks at both looks from her run on Drag Race and outside of the show.

Hair

I found this really interesting. I have long hair and often I tie it up in a ponytail but I don’t really think about the history of the various ponytail styles so this was really interesting to get to see how the ponytail has transformed throughout the decades.

Music

I absolutely love this song by Sara Bareilles. It comes from the musical Waitress. I can relate a lot to the lyrics of this song. And the video is beautifully done too.

5 YouTube Videos To Watch This Week!

YouTube considering moving child content to YouTube Kids - 9to5Google

Here in a new feature on this blog. I hope it will give you some interesting and varied viewing. I am by nature a very curious person, always have been since I was a child and I love to learn so my viewing can be diverse as hell, you have been warned! I hope at least some of the topics will be of interest and I plan to do this weekly so without further ado and rambling from me, here is five YouTube video recommendations to watch this week. 🙂

Music

This powerful song has been put along alongside some powerful images here. We see activists who are ordinary people as well as well-known activists for the rights of people of color like Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela. Highlighted too are the rights of women and LGBTQAI+ people. A very emotional watch.

Social Issues

I am very socially-conscious but I hadn’t heard about Juneteenth until very recently. This video explains very well something I must look more into. Please do watch this video which talks about the day and it’s connections to slavery and the emancipation of so many people of color. It isn’t easy obviously to watch because the fact people were treated in that way is utterly disgusting but we need to acknowledge that terrible history and do better by our brothers, sisters and non-binary people of color.

TV

I am a huge fan of Aquaria and this is the opening episode of her On/Off series where she was out in the Philippines last year. A very interesting series detailing many of her work engagements from last year.

Relaxation

We all need a moment to relax, destress and get ourselves ok again. I have recently got into ASMR as a way to relax and I love videos by Mads Asmr. In this video, Maddie is scratching, raking and pinching and plucking away your stress.

Film

I am a huge Sister Act fan and this scene with Sister Mary Clarence/Deloris Van Cartier and Sister Alma never fails to make me laugh.

Beauty On A Budget: Pre-Summer Look Tutorial

Hello again everyone and welcome to the latest Beauty On A Budget make-up tutorial. For this tutorial I am going to be creating a combination of a shiny and well not so shiny make-up tutorial. A kind of a make-up opposites attract look. The transition between the casual look of spring to the glitz and shine of summer.  Hope you all like it.🙂

So without further ado let’s get to this …

First off here is me before the tutorial:

Step 1

Using Miss Beauty London Perfect Face Primer and Make Up Gallery Make Up Sponges 24 Pack, cover your face and neck and rub the primer in. The smaller triangle sponges are great for any blending of the primer under your eyes. Using Manhattan Fresher Skin Foundation – Classic Ivory and Make Up Gallery Make Up Sponges 24 Pack, cover your face and neck and rub the foundation in. The smaller triangle sponges are great for any blending of the foundation under your eyes. Using the make-up pad provided, blend in Miss Beauty London powder around the face. Using Make-Up Gallery Hide & Seek Concealer Natural Coverage dot under the eyes, just in the middle of the forehead leading off from the nose area, lightly around the face and on any blemishes. Rub in well with Make Up Gallery Make Up Sponges 24 Pack. Again the little triangle is great for under eyes. To make the nose longer and thinner, draw lines down side of nose on both sides and in the middle of the nose without joining the lines and place a dot on top of the nose. Again blend in well with the little triangle.

Use Essence Kajal Pencil – White under eyes as well. Blend brown and white together. Use the black in Miss Beauty London Eye Brown Kit and with the brush provided use it as an eyeliner and on your eye brows. Using Max & More Mascara With Argan Oil – Black place on the top and bottom of your top lids and the tops of your bottom lids. Getting The Hair & Eyes Done By My Sister & At Glamour Bray!

Image result for beauty clipart

Yesterday I went to Glamour Hair & Beauty Salon in Bray and had a hair wash, blow dry and hair cut as well as an eyebrow wax. I was very pleased with the outcome. Everyone there was very friendly as usual and did everything as always with great attention to detail. I usually either get the eyes done or the hair cut (either as a dry cut or occasionally with the wash and blow dry) but yesterday it was the first time I did the three in the one day and I thought I would share the result of the three together. Recently I had my hair dyed with Clairol Nice ‘N Easy Black 2 by my wonderful sister Sharon who did a great job so everything I think beauty-wise has come together well for the moment.

I’m heading down the country back to my hometown in Meath this weekend which is an annual trip to the blessing of the graves where my father and other relations are buried in the graveyard. My little dog is buried close by too so I’m going to visit his resting place as well.

Beauty On A Budget: Christmas Make-Up Look 3 Tutorial

Hello everyone!

Today I bring you my final look in the Christmas Make-Up section for 2018. My next look will be my New Year look. For today’s look, it is more of a creative, artsy kind of look in comparison to the first two looks which I had fun creating and I hope you all like it. 🙂 As always make-up throughout is inexpensive and comes from Dealz, Euro Saver and Euro Giant.

So without further ado let’s get to this …

First off here is me before the tutorial:

webcam-toy-photo68

Step 1

webcam-toy-photo72

webcam-toy-photo73

Using Miss Beauty London Perfect Face Primer and Make Up Gallery Make Up Sponges 24 Pack, cover your face and neck and rub the primer in. The smaller triangle sponges are great for any blending of the primer under your eyes. Using Make Up Gallery Gorgeous Flawless Foundation – Cool Porcelain and Make Up Gallery Make Up Sponges 24 Pack, cover your face and neck and rub the foundation in. The smaller triangle sponges once again are great for any blending of the foundation under your eyes. Using Max & More Make-Up Concealer Liquid – Medium dot under the eyes, just in the middle of the forehead leading off from the nose area, lightly around the face and on any blemishes. Rub in well with Make Up Gallery Make Up Sponges 24 Pack. Again the little triangle is great for under eyes.

webcam-toy-photo70

Primer, Foundation & Concealer On!

Step 2

webcam-toy-photo74

Using Miss Beauty London Eye Brow Kit, put on grey shadow in the palette with the brush provided as an eyeshadow. As the emphasis of this look is on the lips, we will keep the eyeshadow understated. With the black side of the palette and again using the brush provided, brush through your eyebrows. Using Make Up Gallery eyebrow brush to the left in above photograph from Make Up Gallery Cosmetic Brushes, brush your eyebrows with the thin teeth side first and then with the fuzzy side.

webcam-toy-photo75

Using Max & More Eyeshadow Palette – 12 Color Eyeshadow Palette and brush provided, coat top of eyelids with light green, three shades in from the left on the top half of the palette and put the last shade on the left on the top half of the palette under your eyes with the brush provided. Do the same with the final colour on the left in the bottom half of the palette but this time put in the corners of your eyes.

webcam-toy-photo76

Eyeshadow On under, over & in corners of eyes! And Eyebrow Shadow On!

webcam-toy-photo78

Mascara On!

Using Miss Beauty London Waterproof Mascara, place on the top and bottom of your top lids and the tops of your bottom lids. When coating the under part of your top lids wriggle the brush through for extra volume and length.

webcam-toy-photo82

Eyeliner On!

Using Make Up Gallery Brown 4 Soft Kohl Eyeliner do under your eyes.

Step 3

webcam-toy-photo79

webcam-toy-photo80

Using Max & More Conceal, Highlight and Contour Cream Palette, use shade in top right corner with brush from Make Up Gallery Cosmetic Brushes above, highlight the top of your cheeks.

webcam-toy-photo81

Step 4

Using Make Up Gallery Brown 4 Soft Kohl Eyeliner, draw down two lines from under eye shadow and draw the outline of holly leaves and holly buds. Using Max & More Eyeshadow Palette – 12 Color Eyeshadow Palette and brush provided, colour in holly leaves with green shade on the bottom row three from the left. Sadly I couldn’t find out who the company was that created the red lipstick. The shade is called 334 Mercatura and was made in Germany. But there is plenty of inexpensive red lipsticks available and any of them in a similar shade to this one will do the job. Using the red lipstick, colour in the holly buds using the brush on the right in the Make Up Gallery Cosmetic Brushes picture with the three brushes rising out of the packet in step 3.

Beauty On A Budget: Christmas Make-Up Look 2 Tutorial

On December 10th, I was out at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre with my sister Sharon at Christmas Queens and in this tutorial I am re-creating my make-up look from the night. All products used are from Dealz, Euro Saver and Euro Giant. There is some similarities between this tutorial and the last tutorial so you get two similar looks but with differences that make a whole new look. The next tutorial will be very different from these two but I thought it was a nice look and I wanted to share how it was done with you all.
