The X Factor Concert 2015 Review!

Recently my mum, sister and I went to The X Factor 2015 concert at the Three Arena.

We had a lovely time at the concert with everyone been brilliant live. My favourites live though were Ben, Andrea and Stevi. This year for the first time (well in the last three years anyway) there was an announcement of who was coming next which my mum has been saying for ages and she was right, it really worked with the show. The lightening was amazing and all the effects were too. Fleur and Stevi were surprises because I didn’t think they were going to be as good as they were and they were great. Fleur’s standout was Thriller and Stevi’s was Footloose. He’s not a bad singer and a great entertainer. Fleur has both the singing and the dancing skills. I don’t know how she does the two together and sometimes in heels too!

Andrea has this incredible emotive voice. It’s so amazing. You kind of sit there in awe. He’s brilliant. He sang four songs including my personal favourite cover of his Earth Song and then Ben is just as hot in reality. But his accent is even sexier. It’s very Croydon and very beautiful. He did six songs which included my favourite of his Highway To Hell which I just completely rocked out to of course! It was so lovely seeing a rocker as the winner and that reflected quite a lot with the crowd because there was more rockers than usual. He’s the best winner I’ve seen in the three years.

Lauren also gave a brilliant, slowed-down performance of Happy while Only The Young gave a fun uptempo performance of I Want You Back. Stereo Kicks done a lovely job of a Beatles medley while Jay sang Sigma’s Changing well.

Rock Reigns Supreme as Ben Haenow Is Crowned X-Factor Champ!

Tonight Croydon’s Ben Haenow was crowned the winner of X Factor 2014!

The talented rock singer battled against fellow competitors Fleur East who was second and Andrea Faustini who was third. The 29-year-old van driver was winning the contest from week four after his sexy and amazing performance of AC/DC’s Highway To Hell and maintained his winning streak to the end of the show winning against Fleur 57.2% to 34.3%.

Following his win, an emotional Ben said:

“Thank you so much for making my dreams come true.”

His mentor Simon Cowell said:

“A fantastic runner up Fleur. I could not be happier for you, Ben, you deserve it. You’re a great guy, this is your moment.”

Over the course of the weekend, Ben sung Demons by Imagine Dragons, Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran with the man himself, Man In The Mirror with Michael Jackson and the winner’s single Something I Need by OneRepublic.

The song is great and Ben sings it perfectly and Mel B seems to agree saying,

“That song was made for you. You pulled it back, then you put it out there. You gave range to your vocals and gave it light and shade.”

It’s a great night for Ben. It’s a great night for rock music. Well done Ben! Well-deserved! πŸ™‚

Here is Ben singing his new single:

Andrea Faustini Speaks To OK! Magazine!

I want to be best friends with Andrea Faustini! He’s amazing and it was great reading his interview with OK! Magazine in which the Italian X Factor semi-finalist donned the whole English Gentleman look with clothes supplied by Moss Bros amongst others. The interview took place in the Kensington Hotel and Faustini, 20, spoke about his family, his love life, his past singing experiences, famous fans, his fellow contestants, the X Factor judges, British food and culture and how he will remain true to himself.

Speaking about his close relationship with his family, he said,

“I used to share every single moment with my family. My sister was like my best friend. Just lying on the sofa at home, talking and laughing with them. They come and see me whenever they can. So that is important to me. We try to be in contact every day with Skype and FaceTime. When they come over for a weekend I get to spend time with them.”

Was so sweet reading that because I’m really close to my family too and my sister has always been like my best friend too. πŸ™‚

On the topic of his love life he said how he has never been in a relationship or never been kissed saying,

“No, I have never been in a relationship. It just hasn’t happened. I was kissed by a dolphin in Mexico.”

And admitted he has never had his heart broken saying,

“No, fortunately.”

But this is not his first time doing the whole reality TV singing thing. He was previously the winner of Italian talent show Ti Lascio Una Canzone and said of the experience,

“I was only 13. It was a good experience. It helped me to grow. Maybe it helped performing in front of big audiences.”

And he has tried for the Italian X Factor too,

“I tried four times. The first three times I didn’t even get to go before the judges. This year, I did and got four yeses. But I got them here. So I made a choice and my choice was England!”

Yes, I understand! We all know producer’s rounds well who do auditions for singing shows! πŸ™‚

And he spoke about finally getting to the judges’ round saying,

“I am a huge fan of The X Factor UK. I admire the way the shows made, the music choices and the atmosphere in the studio. A lot of famous singers have come from the show. I couldn’t believe I was going in front of the judges. At first, it was just like a holiday. There were thousands of people and I thought, why would they pick me? But then everything happened so fast.”

When asked how he felt about Kate Moss and Ed Sheeran been fans he said,

“I used to see them on TV at home and now they’re rooting for me. It’s weird but beautiful.”

On the topic of his fellow contestants he was asked if he was sad when current I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! contestant Jake Quickenden went out of the show,

“I was very sad. I was also sad about Lola and Paul going. I got on with Jake from the start and I think he saw me as a little brother. He was very protective of me.”

Speaking about Jake going into the jungle he said,

“I think he’ll be fine. He’s the sort of person who can deal with all different sorts of situations, and the type who will be nice to everyone.”

Asked about his favourite contestants he said,

“I did like Paul. I thought he had an amazing voice. I also like Lauren; she is so young, talented and very mature considering her age.”

But he admitted no one on the show caught his eye saying,

“Oh, no!”

Speaking about his mentor Mel B he said,

“I love her! She’s very easy to speak to and is very humble. She works hard. She’s not just a judge to me. She is like a friend. She helps me in the choice of song, staging and production. I am happy just to be working with her. She is not so scary!”

Speaking about Simon Cowell’s comments from Big Band week when he did a flawless performance of Ella Fitzgerald’s Summertime he said,

“I’m not happy but I know his comments are important. He said I pull faces. But I will try not to think about it while I’m singing. Otherwise I am done for. I want to please Simon so fingers crossed! (laughs) I read he had apologised to me and Lauren. I think that’s fair. He is the boss and I think the fact he apologised shows he cares.”

Speaking about moving judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini to tears with his emotive singing voice he said,

“You put everything into what you sing. If you see somebody crying that means you’re doing something good.”

Speaking about Britain he said,

“It’s not my first time here but I just love this country and the city. Rome and London are both beautiful but so different. I like the atmosphere of London. It seems very modern. You can find literally everything you want here. Although it is also full of art and history – similar to Rome. I like fish and chips, cottage pie but you are not good at pasta. I’m sorry. You try, that is commendable. But please stop trying! I have just found a new thing that I love – Terry’s Chocolate Orange!”

Speaking about remaining true to himself in an industry where certain images of people are encouraged he said,

“If I don’t like something I can speak up. It’s me on that stage so I have to be happy with what I’m doing or wearing. I still eat everything that is in front of me. I’m not changing.”

And we all love you just as you are Andrea! πŸ™‚

Ben Haenow’s Hot Shoot And Interview For Heat Magazine!

The very sexy Ben Haenow from Croydon has been making us all weak at the knees on The X Factor – especially in those tight trousers he wore while singing AC/DC’s classic rock hit Highway To Hell! Oh yes indeed! And his smouldering shoot for Heat Magazine this week would make you go all dizzy in his beauty – well that’s the effect it has on me anyway! πŸ™‚

It is a really good read or maybe I was just took over and blinded by his hotness! In the interview Ben, 29 tells the magazine about his very lucky girlfriend Jessica Jones, how alcohol became a feature in his life to block out the pain of becoming estranged from his dad as a teenager, that kiss on the head with fellow contestant Lola Saunders, his body image issues, sexy tweets from fans, fellow competitor and entertainer Stevi Richie and his own chances of winning the hit ITV show.

Speaking about Jessica he said,

β€œThings are much more difficult, mainly for her, because I’m here and she’s just getting on with her life.”

On a TV proposal sensible Ben said,

β€œIt would be amazing TV, but it wouldn’t be amazing for me and my girlfriend. No, getting married is something that isn’t going to be dictated by the show. Win or lose, I will get married to my girlfriend.”

About what Jessica felt about that kiss with on the head he gave Lola he said,

β€œShe wasn’t bothered about it, because that same day I kissed a researcher called Ollie on the forehead as well. I am quite tactile. I gave her a call, saying, β€œI’ve heard this is going to be in the papers”, and she was just like, β€œI know it’s not anything.” It was stupid on my part. I wasn’t expecting cameras to be outside.”

Speaking about his past with alcohol he said,

β€œIt was just starting to make me ill – people were beginning to notice I wasn’t on top of things. I still have a drink every now and then, but just not as crazy. I didn’t get into any physically dangerous situations, but I was just kind of wandering round in the evenings, at an age that you probably shouldn’t be wandering around. Alcoholic means you have a dependency, and for me it was more of a choice. Alcoholic would be the wrong word. I just used drink to get away from the reality of my life at the time. I’m really blessed at the moment, so I don’t feel like I need to run away from anything.”

On his body image issues (which frankly he doesn’t need to have!) he said,

β€œPeople like Jake Quickenden, with his abs, they’re built to take their tops off. I’m just a normal van-driving bloke – the people you see on building sites with their bum-cracks hanging out. Women don’t find that attractive.”

He continued speaking about how he doesn’t feel comfortable taking his top off saying,

β€œNo, I don’t. I think that’s body image issues from been younger.”

But admits the response to his sexiness has boosted his confidence,

β€œDefinitely. It’s an honour to have people saying that stuff, but, at the same time, there are lots of people who don’t like you. You’ll just never be everyone’s cup of tea.”

You are certainly my cup of tea darling!

And speaking of sexy tweets he gets from fans he said,

β€œThere’s the occasional ones, not just from girls but boys as well. It’s as cool as hell, really. I’ve had a few marriage proposals, and some really cheeky stuff that’s too naughty to say.”

Culture Vulture Express seems mild all of a sudden! πŸ™‚

Speaking about Stevi Richie he said,

β€œI don’t think he gets enough credit for what he does. He gives 120 per cent. He can sing – people need to cut him some slack.”

And speaking about whether he thinks he can win or not he said,

β€œAt the moment, you just have to visualise yourself getting through the next week. You can think about it and have a little taste of it, but you have to take it week by week because the competition is so strong now. If you make the wrong song choice, or sing or say something wrong, you can go out. You’ve got to concentrate week on week, but I like to think I have the tenacity to win.”

Sadly couldn’t find the pics from the shoot on the web to share but do check them out in the mag. You know you want to! πŸ™‚

In the meantime here’s that Highway To Hell performance which I shall rename the Highway To Heaven performance! πŸ™‚ Enjoy! I know you all will! πŸ™‚

X Factor 2014 Ones To Watch!

So The X Factor is into it’s live shows stage and below I have put my top five ones to watch from the acts left in the competition this year!

Andrea Faustini

Oh my god his voice is just outstanding. Though there is some very good singers in the competition this year I think with the right marketing Italy’s Andrea is the only one who could be a worldwide star. You can see it. I’m no expert. It’s just obvious. He’s amazing. Seems so lovely too and he loves pugs. What more could you want?

First Audition

Paul Akister

Paul Akister is back and is sounding amazing. He seems really nice and his personality reminds me a bit of my own. I know he’s been advised to talk more and if he feels comfortable doing that so be it but I think he’s wonderful just as he is and for me anyway is coming across very well indeed!

First Audition

Ben Haenow

Ben seems really nice and is absolutely beautiful and his girlfriend is a very lucky woman! πŸ™‚ Outside of that and back to the singing he is really a really strong singer and clearly very experienced with music. You know instantly that he’s used to doing gigs. I suppose here’s where taste kind of comes into it and while if I’m been honest I think Andrea is a better singer (because let’s face it, it’s really hard to be technically better than Andrea!) I’d be more inclined to buy a record by Ben just based on the fact that I love rock more than diva style pop music and excluding his first audition which was in the soul vein Ben has since been rocking out. I love his style too.

First Audition

Only The Young

They seem nice and Mikey is gorgeous. I like that although their a pop band essentially there is an edge to them that’s bordering on pop/rock. And I love the way they incorporate old songs into the mix unlike a lot of bands do which makes them stand out. I’m an old soul so I love a lot of old music so it’s really cool and their so talented and they gel so well together as a band. Again I love their style too.

First Audition

Chloe Jasmine

Chloe Jasmine has had a lot of negative reactions but I personally think she’s great. Outside of her been posh I can relate to a lot of her personality. It isn’t easy when you’re perceived as different to always be yourself and I think it is incredibly brave of her to go on the show and do that. I think she comes across really nice and I love her style too. I think she has an incredible voice. I think it’s very distinctive although I prefer her singing classic songs than more modern tunes and I think she could have a great career with that kind of music.

The X Factor Comes Back To Dublin!

Image

The X Factor auditions for 2014 began in Dublin yesterday for the first time in four years at Dublin’s Convention Centre and I was there auditioning! But more on that will feature on my music blog if you’re interested. πŸ™‚

Executive producer Mark Sidaway advised us wannabes,

“Come with something that’s going to make you stand out from the crowd. If you look at previous successful auditions, people have come out and done something different.”

So many people turned up that the auditions went on for most of the day. It was the first round with the producers present and callbacks were the next day for those successful at the first phase. πŸ™‚
