5 Videos To Watch This Week On YouTube!

Hi everyone! 🙂

It is that time of the week again. Here is my five video suggestions for this week:

Politics

In this video Tyler Oakley talks to Brandon Kyle Goodman about the upcoming Presidential Election in America and explains how your one vote could make all the difference. Really informative and interesting.

Make-Up/Drag

In this video, Bob The Drag Queen does a look using Party City supplies and RuPaul’s Teal the Show Wig. With assistance from Free The Drag Queen, Bob creates yet another fantastic look.

Musical Theatre/Film

With Halloween just around the corner, it is the perfect time to enjoy Todrick Hall’s take on Hocus Pocus called Hocus Broke-us. It’s amazing and a lot of fun. So well put together. Todrick and the entire cast are excellent.

Music

I love both Queen and Panic! At The Disco so this is perfect. A really great version of Bohemian Rhapsody from Panic! At The Disco’s The Death Of A Bachelor Tour.

Here is a throwback for you all. A wonderful performance of Nancy Boy by Placebo on Top of the Pops in 1997.

Placebo Placebo Review!

Placebo by Placebo (1996) is a stunning debut album. Ah, the debut album of Placebo! A real joy to hear the start of a band who have become so influential to so many people including me. There is quite a bit of this album I can relate to because I am around the age that they were when they brought it out. Packed with what was to become their trademark sound of emotive and thought-provoking lyrics, incredible instrumentals, Brian’s outstandingly unique voice and very catchy songs all-round with fantastic hooks that swirl around happily in your head and stay there. Their songs have definitely since become more mature-sounding as you’d expect and it’s great when you hear this album to hear the start of that musical journey.

Come Home

Rousing instrumentals and striving strong vocals make this another Placebo winner.

Teenage Angst

Emotive and strong. The lines are like poetry and stem out stunningly from the track. The instrumentals also have a 90s’ grunge feel to them which fits perfectly with the song.

Bionic

Thundering, strong and catchy. Excellent instrumental command by the band. Brian’s vocal is soaring and powerful.

36 Degrees

Very original and catchy. Wonderful song with a very catchy chorus. Brian’s vocal is brilliantly presented. The way this song flows from the various different parts is very well constructed and crafted.

Hang On To Your IQ

Very storytelling with an instantly catchy hook, “Hold on to your IQ. To your ID.”. Brilliant. Very imaginative and original. The instrumentals are understated brilliance and Brian’s vocal is stunning.

Nancy Boy

One of my favourite Placebo songs. The chorus is so catchy. And the verses are brilliantly put together. Brian’s voice is very storyteller-like on this track too which brings so much life and energy to the song combined with the outstanding instrumentals. Stunning. Stunning. Stunning.

I Know

Very good lyrically. It’s kind of poetic. And very catchy.

Bruise Pristine

Very powerful and catchy. Thundering and passionate. Brian’s vocal is amazing throughout the song. There is also an amazing break into an even faster rhythm in this song and the chimes leading up to it brilliantly flow into the faster segment.

Lady Of The Flowers

This is brilliant. The sexual, seductive sound in Brian’s voice on this number just draws you in. He’s got such a come-to-bed voice. It’s intoxicating.

Swallow

The opening music is very haunting and it builds up wonderfully. It’s brilliant instrumentally and goes well with the spoken pieces.

Placebo Gig Review!

I went to see Placebo recently with my sister. It was an amazing night out. It was our first time at The Olympia and it’s a lovely theatre and the toilet was right next to us throughout the show which was brilliant in case old nature called!

Support was by Scottish band The Mirror Trap and they did seven songs and then Placebo came on. The lighting was pretty astonishing. No expense spared. It was brilliant and looked absolutely amazing. Songs included in the set were The Bitter End, Meds and Special Needs which they haven’t sung live in a while. The encore consisted of four songs starting with Begin The End then we had their version of Running Up That Hill and Post Blue and ending with Infra Red. Brian Molko’s voice is incredible and he comes across really nice and he’s sexy as hell. I didn’t think he could be even better-looking in reality because he’s so insanely handsome on TV and stuff but he actually is! He was very nice to look at indeed! He has this incredibly sexy voice and he spoke about sex which was, well brilliant. 🙂 He also spoke about the heritage of Dublin, noticing old fans and welcoming new fans. Stefan was brilliant on guitar and is very tall in reality. I knew he was tall but he was even taller in reality than I imagined he would be. Matt was amazing on the drums as well. He is a very passionate, powerful drummer. The instrumentals were amazing and they all seemed so nice. They came across really nice and Brian was very witty too. An amazing night and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

A Day Out In Dún Laoghaire With My Girls!

I had a lovely day out in Dún Laoghaire recently with my mum and sister. We first headed to Ticketmaster which is basically part of a small shop in the shopping centre and where we get all our concert/musical tickets when we can afford them! And today we got tickets for Placebo at The Olympia and The X Factor Tour in the O2 in 2015. After that, me and mum brought scratchcards from the shop (trying to reclaim some of the money we had spent on our tickets! Hehe!) and I won 25 Euros. Yay!

Then I headed down to the record store. Got three Vinyl stickers: The Rolling Stones, AC/DC and “Plug In … Tune Up … Rock Out”. Possibles for my guitar! 🙂 and we then went and had a look around Penneys. Got some dog pjs. The girls got pjs too and then we went to Dealz and I got this incredible calendar for 2015. It has all Rock Legends in it from Sting to Gene Simmons, Bryan Adams, Jon Bon Jovi and my own two personal favourites Freddie Mercury and Jimi Hendrix. It’s amazing. We also went to Tesco and then we went home after that.

It was a lovely day out and we’re looking forward to the gigs. Me and my sister were laughing on the way home about how February is going to be a hot month because we’ll be seeing both Brian Molko and Ben Haenow in the flesh! Really looking forward to that indeed! 🙂
