Top 11 Tips For The Voice of Ireland Crown 2015!

So The Battles have now been completed on The Voice of Ireland and the competition is approaching it’s live show phase. But just who has what it takes to be the show’s fourth winner? Take a look below to see who I think is in with a good chance of been crowned champ number 4!

Fionn Gardner

19-year-old Kilkenny Theatre student Fionn Gardner has a very unique tone to his voice and sung High Hopes by Kodaline at his blind audition. He is on Team Kian.

Sasha Sangari Smith

24-year-old rock chick Sasha Sangari Smith, originally from Dublin but now living in Wexford, has a strong rock voice which made her over of Burn by Ellie Goulding very unique at her blind audition. Originally on Team Kian, she was stolen by Bressie at The Battles.

Ashley Loftus

31-year-old Ashley Loftus from Waterford is on Team Bressie and sung a stunning version of The Blower’s Daughter by Damien Rice at her blind audition.

Niall O’Halloran

Singing Lay Me Down by Sam Smith at his blind audition the current favourite to win The Voice Limerick man Niall O’Halloran impressed and joined Team Una.

Patrick Donoghue

23-year-old Patrick Donoghue from Dublin joined Team Una after an amazing version of Red by Daniel Merriweather at his blind audition. On a side note I’m pretty sure I seen him at The X Factor audition last year. Could be wrong but I think I did. So if he goes on to win I can always say I seen The Voice winner. Has a good chance of doing so.

Chloe Wilders

I think Chloe Wilders’ has a really good pop/country voice with a bit of rock thrown in for good measure in parts so I think her voice will suit many songs. Originally on Team Bressie after her blind audition of I Won’t Give Up’ by Jason Mraz, she was stolen at The Battles by Kian.

Kieran McKillop

Singing The Backstreet Boys I Want It That Way at his blind audition, Ballymena’s Kieran McKillop impressed and joined Team Una. After one of the best battles of the series with Patrick Donoghue to You Give Me Something by James Morrison, he was stolen by Rachel.

Helena Bradley Bates

Singing Heart’s Alone at her blind audition Helena Bradley Bates showed the power and strength in her voice. She is on Team Kian.

Ciara Monaghan

Performing From Eden by Hozier, 18-year-old rock/folk singer Ciara Monaghan managed to impress Kian at her blind audition.

John Bonham

28-year-old rocker John Bonham from Dublin created one of the best battles of the series with Sasha Sangari Smith as the two blasted out Def Leppard’s Animal. He sang Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin at his audition and following his win in the battle remained on Team Kian.

Emma Humber

19-year-old student Emma Humber sang a haunting version of This Woman’s Work by Kate Bush at her blind audition and joined Team Bressie and kept her place on his team after another of the best battles of the series with Chloe Wilders to We Don’t Eat by James Vincent McMorrow.

The Fish Eye Challenge

The fish eye challenge was did by the three presenters and the guests on the show and was won by Joe Swash. Let’s take a look at a few of them in action!:

Favourite Guests

There was many celebrity guests on to give their opinions. My favourites included Matt Richardson, Bobby Cole Norris and Joey Essex.

Rob’s Edwina Impersonation

Rob’s impersonation of Edwina just cracked me up!

The Cyclone Challenge

It was team Ireland versus team England in the Cyclone challenge with sadly team England coming out on top. 🙂

Interviews With The Campmates

Each campmate as is tradition were interviewed on the show following their exits. My favourites were Tinchy and king Foggy.

Carl ‘Foggy’ Fogarty Wins I’m A Celebrity 2014!

Last night Lancashire-born and four-time World Superbike champion Carl ‘Foggy’ Fogarty won the fourteenth series of ITV’s I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!

The star beat off stiff competition in the final from former X Factor contestant Jake Quickenden who was second and presenter Mel Sykes who was third. Fogarty was presented with the crown and staff by last year’s king of the jungle former Westlife star and Voice of Ireland coach Kian Egan after the result was announced by Ant & Dec and was met by his wife Michaela at the end of the bridge in excited and adorable circumstances where his crown fell off at one stage and an excited Michaela put it back on his head.

Foggy said of his time in the jungle,

‘Nobody thought they were up themselves and everybody was lovely. Ten really nice people – and I’m not a people person. Everyone was easy-going.’

And said of his win that it was ‘the best thing that’s ever happened to me’.

Very well deserved Foggy! 🙂

The Fabulous Brendan McCahey Wins The Voice of Ireland!

The amazing Brendan McCahey won The Voice of Ireland tonight!

The amazing Brendan McCahey won The Voice of Ireland tonight!

The fabulous Brendan McCahey tonight scooped the title of The Voice of Ireland winner. McCahey, who is living in Cavan, sang  ‘Can’t Judge A Book’ by The Strypes and did a duet with the lovely Jerry Fish in the final to secure his win.

The 39-year-old, who was part of Team Bressie, was originally turned down by producers of the show this year but gained one of the coveted 2FM wildcards to get to the blind auditions stage of the competition where his savvy mentor was the only one to turn around and he then went on to receive two tens, the only two tens of the series, for his semi-final performance of Sam Smith’s Stay With Me.

Mentor Bressie said proudly Brendan tonight,

“The only thing Brendan hasn’t done is gangster rap. You are ready to record an album, you are that good.”

Dolores O’ Riordan’s act Kellie Lewis came second, Jamelia’s act Laura May Lenehan finished third and Bressie’s other finalist Jaime Stanton finished 4th.

Congrats Brendan and Bressie! Very well-deserved guys! 🙂

The NTAs 2014!

Dermot O’ Leary presented the NTAs this year and the show was opened brilliantly by Sam Bailey, Michael Bolton and a choir of kids from Educating Yorkshire.

The first award of the night went to Paul O’ Grady: For The Love of Dogs for Factual Entertainment. I was so happy because I love that show! 🙂 Sam and Michael presented them with the award. Paul mentioned how the real stars of the show were the dogs.

The next award was presented by Tom Daley for Entertainment Programme. This award went I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! Kian and Joey spoke. Well done Kian and co!

The Documentary Series Award went to Educating Yorkshire while Best Newcomer went to Khali Best from Eastenders who was presented the award by fellow Eastenders’ Danny Dyer and Kellie Bright and gave a really nice speech. Daytime went to This Morning.

Matt Smith won Drama Performance while Drama was won by Doctor Who. TV Detective was won by Benedict Cumberbatch.

Nigel Havers did a fab performance as Simon Cowell from Harry Hill’s musical based on The X Factor I Can’t Sing with the actress who plays Sinita and another fab performance from Abbey Clancy, Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli and three professional male dancers. Abbey, Craig and Bruno presented the award to Ant & Dec.

Irish luck was shining as Mrs Brown’s Boys took home the Comedy award. Well done all! Brendan joked, “Thank you so much for voting. It looks like our Twitter campaign, our advertising and our threats paid off.”

Serial Drama Performance went to Julie Hesmondhalgh presented by Nick Grimshaw. I was so happy for her. I just wish that both her and David Neilson could have jointly won. They came up together and it was so sweet! 🙂 She thanked her deceased dad who died last year, her husband and David.

Sam Bailey sang The Power of Love beautifully too.

Talent Show went to Strictly Come Dancing and Corrie won the Serial Drama which audience member Sarah presented.

The Landmark award was won by Ant & Dec.

The awards were as usual voted by the public. Well done to everyone! 🙂

Kian Egan Appears on The Late Late Show!

Kian Egan appeared on The Late Late Show this week!

Kian Egan appeared on The Late Late Show this week!

I watched current king of the jungle Westlife star Kian Egan talking on The Late Late Show on RTE over here in Ireland this week.

Egan, from Sligo, spoke about his time in the jungle saying that his biggest challenges while participating in the ITV show were missing loved ones, the lack of food and been cut off from society. He spoke about how he prayed to his deceased father Kevin every night while he was in the jungle.

His mother Patricia, his brother and his sisters were in the audience and his mum spoke. She spoke about how she wasn’t worried about Kian going into the jungle because she knew he was an adventurer but that she was worried that he wouldn’t take care of his skin and get sunburn. Kian also revealed that his mum sent him a sent saying how his father would have been proud of him the jungle and that he reminded her of his dad.

The moment when he seen Jodi in the jungle was played and Kian revealed how he knew when he seen Jodi there that everything outside with his son Koa and all his loved ones was Ok and settled. He spoke about how listening to fellow campmates Alfonso Ribeiro and Vincent Simone talk about recently having babies made him broody to want to have another child with Jodi.

Egan also spoke about the differences in the fame he had in Westlife and the fame he had since leaving I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here’s jungle. He revealed that when he was in Westlife he would get people saying that they liked his music but now he would get people saying that they thought he was a really nice person.

He spoke about fellow campmate Joey Essex and how he advised Joey to save more money whilst in the jungle. He spoke about how Joey had a Gucci pair of shorts for a sum of 350 while his shorts which looked identical were a sum of 50. And then we seen Kian’s jackets throughout the years, some of which were expensive but Kian was quick to point out he didn’t choose them all, and an inexpensive jacket which he wore in Grease when he was in secondary school.

He joked presenter Ryan Tubrity when asked what he hoped for next, “to stand up and he’d show him.” joking that he wanted his job.

Catch Kian on The Voice of Ireland on RTE every Sunday!

The truth is Crimbo jumpers make us smile from a Santa to a snowman to a reindeer and all the various wonderful alternatives. I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here Now! My Highlights!

The gorgeous Rob Beckett!

The gorgeous Rob Beckett!

After the main show I watched I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here Now! And I thought it would be a good blog if I gave my top 5 moments from the show this year so enjoy and reminisce with the moments of a fellow nerd who also watches the after shows!

Moment 1: I think my favourite moment has to be the pet VTs that people send in. There was a grumpy darling of a cat doing the I’m A Celeb call and he was a personal favourite but all the pets were fabulous and I was so happy for that other cat Emily when she won the award on the final show for the best I’m A Celeb call! Well done Emily!

Moment 2: The Celebs on the panel were great this year. I am a fan of quite a few of them like Andy Brown, John Partridge, Matt Johnson, Denise Van Outen and of course our own Brian McFadden. Who can forget Matt Johnson shaking his glorious bottom to that sexy bum song that was sent in? Or Andy Brown beating Joe Swash and Denise Van Outen in the challenge or doing Kian’s challenge? Or John Partridge making the unforgettable comment that he wouldn’t chose to do the eating trial because he could put balls in his mouth in the comfort of his own living-room anytime he wanted? Also loved when they would talk to the celebs on the TV because I was a fan of a lot of them too! Good year! I’m a fan of Bobby Cole Norris, Ashley Roberts and of course our very own Shane Filan.

Moment 3: The banter with the presenters. Our very own Laura Whitmore done a great job with former king of the jungle Joe Swash and the very hot Rob Beckett again this year. Who can forget them doing the Carlton dance? Or Joe knocking Rob out with the ball? Or Rob pretending to go into the jungle and been brought out by the security?

Moment 4: The interviews with the celebs when they had left the jungle. Especially Joey, David and Vincent and of course King Kian!

Moment 5: The Sexy Bum song. It was really good!

So there you have it. My top 5 moments this year! Hope it brings back memories!
