The 56th Grammy Awards took place recently and were presented by the very cool LL Cool J and the show was opened by Beyonce unleashing her Sasha Fierce side as she performed with Jay Z singing “Drunk in Love”. One of the highlights. It was amazing. Their such a sweet couple too.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis won four awards and performed with Mary Lambert Same Love which was the highlight of the show when numerous couples, both gay and straight, got married and Madonna came on to sing a bit of Open Your Heart too and Queen Latifah spoke. I seen one of the lads crying with happiness that got married. The whole thing was so sweet. Congratulations to all the couples who got married.

Another highlight was Pink and Nate Ruess. Pink came down doing acrobatics before dancing with a hot man. Lucky old Pink and then followed that up by singing with the beautiful Nate Reuss. Oh Pink, I’m jealous! Totally jealous! And totally in admiration on every score!

Ringo Starr sang solo and also with Paul McCartney. The Beatles were one of the acts that won a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Lorde won song of the year for Royals and she also performed the song at the ceremony while Carole King and Sara Bareilles dueted together before presenting that award.

The very handsome Neil Patrick Harris introduced Daft Punk’s performance with Pharrell Williams, Nile Rodgers and Stevie Wonder which got everyone up on their feet. Beyonce was grooving.

Bruno Mars, Pharrell Williams, Anna Kendrick and Jared Leto were also on presenting duties. Leto paid tribute to Lou Reed and presented Metallica for their performance of “One”.

Happy couple Beyonce and Jay Z have shared the top spot on Billboard’s Power 100 list this year!

Universal Music Group CEO Lucian Grainge as well as Red Light Management founder Coran Capshaw keep are next on the yearly list of the most inspiring people in the music industry. The pair were first and second last year but were toppled from the top two spots by the power couple this year.

Following billboard editors taking time to put together the list from market shares, revenue and other information, the pair who formed their own companies, Roc Nation and Parkwood Entertainment beat off stiff competition from Justin Bieber’s and The Wanted’s manager Scooter Braun; Ryan Seacrest, music producer Dr. Luke; Jimmy Iovine and Spotify CEO Daniel Ek.

It has been confirmed that both Beyoncé and Jay Z will perform at this year’s Grammy Awards during the first hour of the show at Los Angeles’ Staples Centre on January the 26th!

Their performances were revealed during a commercial for the awards on CBS.

Other stars set to perform are Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, John Legend, Lorde, Daft Punk, Pharrell Williams, Stevie Wonder, Nile Rodgers, Robin Thicke, Lang Lang Metallica, Pink, Nate Ruess, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.

Beyonce and Jay-Z’s “Drunk in Love” is another hit for the sweet couple!

Beyonce’s “Drunk in Love” featuring her husband Jay-Z has in its sixth week on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart jumped 5-1 to mark her sixth leader on the list.

It was 2012 when the Queen B herself last was top of the chart with “Love on Top” for seven weeks. 

The following is a list of the female artists who have the most No. 1s in the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart since it began 22 years ago:
