Lady Gaga Jumps To The Defence of Interscope!

Lady Gaga struck by her record company, Interscope!

Lady Gaga has jumped to the defence of her record company after Billboard, an Examiner article laid into the company which represents Gaga, Interscope, alleging that it lost $US25 million ($28 million) due to not enough copies of the album ARTPOP been sold, leading to redundancies amongst staff. The article is not online anymore.

The article also suggested that her latest offering managed to sell just 258,000 copies in its first week, so much less than her hugely selling album Born This Way.

Gaga took to her website Little Monsters to write that there was “no truth to many of your comments, including the 25 million dollars deficit. These are rumors that are being repeated and spread. They are completely untrue. I have lost loved ones to the greed of money. It is not Interscope”.

She said that the blame lay with her management team. She spoke out about the “greed” of people around her, stating that she was “gravely mismanaged” while she had been ill with synovitis, which leads to joint inflammation.

“My heart breaks from the people I have trusted and loved who I’ve worked so closely with, who have used me, lied to me, worked me into the ground for the personal gain. When I woke up in the hospital after my surgery, there were many people that were not there. My health did not matter. I did not matter unless I could perform. This is a very hard lesson. Millions of dollars are not enough for some people. They want billions. Then they need trillions. I was not enough for some people. They wanted more.”, she stated.
