On Monday night, Cameron Cole became the final ever winner of BBUK as the long-running reality show came to it’s final curtain call. Cameron (19), a vlogger from Norwich faced competition from Akeem Griffiths who finished in second, Zoe Jones who placed third and Cian Carrigan who took fourth spot. Cole was not only the last winner of the show but also the youngest. Jones and Carrigan left the house together first leaving Cole and Griffiths to fight it out for the win.

In the end, Cameron who came out as gay, had a coming out party and celebrated his birthday in the house came out on top which I felt was very well-deserved. His friendship with Lewis was my highlight of this year’s show and I just love the both of them.

Following his win Cameron said,

‘I am completely and utterly shell-shocked. I thought I was going to be out first week. I didn’t think I’d be liked. I thought I’d be irritating, annoying. I didn’t think I was going to fit in. I can’t believe it. It was a dream to get in. I don’t even know what you’d call this. It’s a miracle.’

Speaking about his friendship with Lewis he said,

‘I love [Lewis] to bits. I can’t thank him enough. He changed my life. It was a brotherhood. We looked at each other and it was an instant connection. We could both be grumpy together…over think together. I love him to bits. I could never sit here without him. I would never have done it without him. I’d only said it to like five people before that. For him to help me the way he did, I could never…’

Why Cameron Cole Is My BBUK Winner …

Image result for cameron cole big brother

Tonight the curtain falls on BBUK’s last ever final and I am hoping it ends with Cameron winning. Here is five reasons why …

His Coming Out Moments

In 2018, no one should still be fearful of the reaction they will get on coming out as gay (or anything other than straight for that matter) but in reality there is still far too much prejudice in this world. A quick Google search will show that to you and Cameron coming out that he was gay even today is still a very brave thing to do and it will help a lot of viewers to be true to who they are and I salute him for his openness despite his fears at such a young age.

His Friendship With Lewis

My highlight of this year’s show has been these twos’ friendship. I think they are going to be friends for life. The bond they have is brilliant.

Saving Akeem

Tactically getting rid of Akeem was a better option as Akeem was higher in the betting than Isabella but Cameron chose to save him as he was there from the beginning. A brave, kind and correct move.

His Nerdiness

Being a fellow nerd, I find myself drawn to nerds! Cameron (and of course Lewis too!) have definitely being the nerds of this season with their stimulating chats and their desire to talk about something other than sex. While I’d be very much in the nerdy crew with Lewis and Cameron talking about world issues if I’d being a housemate, I might still have snuck off to chat nookie with Tomasz too!

His Plans To Defend Cian

Nikki Grahame came in and insinuated that Cian was a dirty old man for his crush on Cameron referring to Cameron as “a young boy”. Utterly pathetic in and of itself as there is only five years in age difference between them. But when Nikki was gone, instead of play the game of making Cian out to be a dirty old man, Cameron and Cian sat down to discuss how they would deal with questions outside with Cameron vowing to defend Cian when he was asked about their friendship and Cian’s feelings towards him in the house. Now that ain’t a young boy to me. That’s a very responsible man not in the mood to destroy someone else’s reputation. Take note Nikki.

All the best to Cameron tonight and to all of the other finalists! 🙂

Cameron to win! 🙂

Tonight Is The Last Ever Big Brother UK Final …

Image result for big brother

Tonight Big Brother UK draws to a close with the last ever final where the final winner will be announced. As always it has been a season of ups and downs but we are now down to four contestants vying for glory and £100,000 so without further ado, here is my last ever review of the BB UK finalists …

Akeem Griffiths

I like Akeem. I admire how much he’s kept his calm and positive manner for the most part throughout. Not an easy thing to do I’d imagine. He never seems stressed or fazed too often by the events taking place around him. He just seems an all-round nice guy. Some people may not be as fond of his competitive side but I don’t mind it and he’s always being upfront about that side of his nature. I can’t fault Akeem. He has added a lot of moments to the show and has always tried his best in tasks. Just a cool guy.

Cameron Cole

Cameron is my winner. Have to be honest and say that he probably wouldn’t have been if Lewis hadn’t been removed but Cameron was always my second favourite in the house. I’m a bit of a nerd myself so I like his nerdiness. His friendship with Lewis in my opinion was the highlight of the series. It was so beautiful to watch and seeing how much they were both there for each other was wonderful. Cameron made a very big decision in the house to come out as gay and the way Lewis helped him through that was beautiful. I think Cameron’s honesty will help a lot of young people and people in general out there to be themselves which is always a good thing. Cameron has been prominent in almost every episode and has involved in some way or other with most of the big storylines in the house. And to me, that’s what makes a Big Brother winner. I also loved his fairness in keeping Akeem in the house despite Akeem being a bigger threat to win than Isabella and how he said he’d defend Cian outside after Nikki Grahame’s comments. Also loved his friendship with the wonderful Tomasz too.

Cian Carrigan

Image result for cian big brother

Because Cian is my fellow Irish person I want to like him more than I do. In the last few days, he has really given a good showing of himself and I’ve liked him more in the last few days. There is small things with Cian that I’m not a huge fan of though like sometimes he comes over a bit false to me and I’m not convinced a lot of his tears sometimes are real. But the thing I really didn’t like was how he indirectly pressured Cameron into coming out that he was gay by revealing to the whole house how much he fancied Cameron when he got drunk. It wouldn’t have been so bad if Cian was clueless about Cameron being gay but he wasn’t clueless about it. It kind of shocked and horrified me that he could be that insensitive in the situation. Up to that point I had thought he was a very good friend to Cameron. Now to be fair, they have crossed over that bridge and since Lewis and Tomasz left I feel like Cian has been Cameron’s rock in the house and it’s been lovely seeing them been there for each other. And despite everything I’m saying I do feel a caring warmth off Cian. I think there is a good person inside with a huge heart. It’s just some of his actions sometimes do put me off a bit at times. But there has been times too where my blood has boiled over things that have been said about him. Firstly he was a really loyal friend to Zoe in the house and she hasn’t very often been to him. Secondly when Nikki Grahame went into the house the other night and made Cian out to be a dirty old man for fancying Cameron, I was sick to my stomach. Let’s be real about this: Cian is 24, Cameron is 19, it’s hardly cradle-snatching. Even if they ended up being together it would not be a big deal in the slightest.

Zoe Jones

Image result for zoe jones big brother

I’m not Zoe’s biggest fan. I think she has been terribly two-faced to Cian who has been nothing but a good friend to her. She has been so good at acting it to his face that he’s her best mate in the house that if I wasn’t on the outside and was in Cian’s shoes in there I’d believe her too! I find it terrible. Also when you watch her VT, she seems a completely different person to the person who is in the house. On the plus side, I did agree completely with her last night when she was discussing the stigma surrounding being on benefits. I can relate to the feelings she expressed on the issue and I think it’s fantastic that she highlighted the true feelings of many of us on the dole as opposed to the tired old stigma that does the rounds far too often.

Honorary Mention

Lewis Flanagan

Image result for lewis big brother

For me, and many many others, the honorary winner of this year’s show is Lewis who was removed last week from the house. I could never condone the reasons for his removal on such a public platform as it could be very triggering for a lot of people but I don’t for one moment believe there was malice or bigotry meant by his comments. In fact from what I seen over the course of the show, he seemed to be the complete opposite: a warm-hearted, compassionate man who was loyal to his friends and put himself on the line for those he cared for. His friendship with Cameron was simply beautiful to watch. Lewis was like a big brother to him and they often reminded me of me with my older sister. There was a lovely closeness, understanding and patience between them as well as many great chats and laughs. Lewis made a lot of the show this year. He was involved in practically every big moment that happened and his Diary Room rants were simply epic. He bravely bared his soul and brought much needed attention to mental health issues through his honesty.

Was he fiery? Oh my god, yes. But he spoke his mind, wasn’t hiding behind the door with his views and I quite liked that. No, he wasn’t perfect but are any of us? He did have a tendency to not be able to let things drop and that red wine came across as something that made his fiery side actually worse. The problem with being a Lewis fan and being into men is that the first thing people throw at you when you defend him is that you fancy him. I won’t deny that I do find him sexy as hell and yes, night one I looked at him alright but my crush became a bigger crush because of his personality. There has been a lot of handsome men who have went into BB and have had zero personality. Like him or not, he is flowing with personality. I find his strength of character, the no fear factor of saying what he feels very refreshing. I like the compassionate way he feels about people and how he likes to help when he can. There is a bit of fire in him and that’s actually quite attractive too.

I felt very sad when I heard he was removed. Me and my sister are huge fans. Strange considering I’ve never the bloke and I wasn’t getting a share in the £100,000 but I was sad. To be honest I’d have felt sad for anyone on their way to winning losing out like that. But I think he has a very strong way about him and I think he’ll bounce back from this and do very well for himself and I wish him all the best. Love you Lewis! 🙂

Cameron’s Secret On Big Brother UK

Related image

Right now I am watching the very last season of Big Brother UK. On the show there is a storyline revolving around an 18-year-old vlogger Cameron Cole who has a secret which he is considering sharing. It does seem that his secret revolves around his sexuality and that he might not be being completely honest about how he identifies. So just to put everyone in the picture Cameron is officially saying he’s straight at the moment but during his time in the house it has looked from some of the things he has said that it may not be true and at this stage a lot of viewers are thinking he’s gay.

I think it’s looking very likely that his secret is to do with his sexuality. Conversations about sexuality are what seems to have triggered something in Cameron to be more open about who he is. He might be gay and viewers who put forward why they think that with reasons and incidents I understand where they are coming from but there is viewers too who think it because they don’t think he’s straight. While there is thankfully viewers too who have more open in their thinking about Cameron being something other than gay or straight. And in the world ever but more openly nowadays, I don’t it’s as simple as someone is either straight or gay. There is so many sexualities, different ways of looking at your sexuality like for example 90% feeling for a gender, 10% for another gender and there is a lot of people who don’t label their sexuality either so there is a lot more options for what exactly Cameron is keeping secret even if you simply took it as being about his sexuality. And while I know it can still be difficult to say you’re gay, it is more difficult to say nowadays you’re something other than gay or straight.

Speaking as someone who is pan, I definitely think it would be harder to be open about that than saying you’re gay because a lot more people understand gay that may still not understand pan. And in general if you’re anywhere in the middle or anything other than gay or straight in general you may find it more difficult to say to a group especially since everyone else left in the house either likes just men or just women with no sway to their sexuality in any way. If Cameron is gay, he will have people who understand what it feels like from a personal perspective. If he feels any other way, though people hopefully and probably will be supportive, there wouldn’t be anyone who would understand what he was feeling from a personal perspective. And if he is anything other than gay, the fear is will people he’s living with get it and will they be ok with it? Will the viewers get it and be ok with it? I’m not saying people wouldn’t be but that can often go through a person’s mind when they don’t fit into a neat box.

Now Cameron may be gay. What I’m putting across here is other options because he hasn’t actually said he is gay. But he could be. I’m not disputing that. It does appear from situations to do with playful banter with some of the other housemates that at least part or all of his sexuality is that he likes guys. And they are living 24/7 with him so I would imagine they have an idea of that.

I do feel for him in this situation because he’s about to make a decision of whether to be open or not that will change his life. It has great changes where you have a weight off your shoulders and you’re open, honest and free. On the other hand while the world has moved on massively, there is always more of a chance someone won’t like you for being anything other than straight and some people can be dangerous in various ways in their prejudices and when I realised I was pan, after the happiness and the freedom, briefly I got a bit nervous of that. So there’s a lot of things he would probably fear facing so it’s not by any thought process an easy decision to make. He is in a TV show so there will be commentary of the events in the house and that’s understandable. You put yourself in a show, you have to expect that. I think it’s ok to talk about what might be at the heart of Cameron’s secret feelings because he is on reality show but there is a difference between speaking about possibly what he’s keeping back and actually saying that he’s gay or definitely saying it’s to do with his sexuality. It appears it is to do with his sexuality but until he says that, we don’t know that for a fact and I think we all as viewers need to have that respect to say well it could actually be something completely different even if it looks like it isn’t. And to realise that this is a human being making a decision that goes beyond this show. When I hear people saying “Would he ever just come out already?”, I do look because it’s something he needs to do in his own time whatever the situation and TV show or not, we need to remember that and respect that.

He has said he’s worried about his family and friends’ reactions. I don’t know the people involved but I’d like to think they’d love him for who he is. It can be harder in the world without the support of those you love.

His friendships especially with Lewis (who I like in a lot of ways but that’s a whole other blog post! :-)) and Cian are lovely to watch and they are being very understanding and supportive and are listening and helping him through. He’s only 18 and anyone would need support but it’s nice to see them both looking out for him as like big brothers.

Whatever the situation I wish Cameron all the best and hope his life is filled with happiness, freedom and truth.

Big Brother: 7 Talking Points From the Series!

And so we have come to my last BB blog post. 7 talking points from the series. There has been many more talking points from the series but that would take all day …

Lotan’s Removal

At the beginning Lotan was alright but gradually he seemed to change. By the time he got removed it wasn’t a surprise. Fight night 2 was a major talking point of the series and Lotan was removed the next day after throwing his drink hitting Isabelle, Hannah and Deborah with his drink when Isabelle said he wasn’t a role model for his son. After that all hell broke loose with practically everyone involved:

Ellie & Sam

While I think their relationship sent most of us to sleep, their relationship was definitely a talking point from the series:

Kieran & Deborah

Kieran and Deborah’s friendship/will-they-won’t-they relationship kept us all gripped including a date, fake proposal, fake wedding and fake divorce:

Raph & Andrew

Raph and Andrew’s unrequited love was a talking point of the series including that awkward moment when Andrew tried to kiss Raph:

Raph’s Twerking

It was a very entertaining, funny moment from the show. He smashed it! 🙂

Andrew’s Wax Session

Another talking point. Super cringy but he was very brave. Good on him!

Arthur Just Been Arthur

He may have been only just over a week or so in the house but he made the most of it and became a really memorable housemate:

Thanks for a great series everyone! Roll on CBB! 🙂

Six Great Outfits From BB2017!

In my second last BB blog post I will be talking fashion baby! The following is my six favourite outfits from the season …

Andrew’s Rock/New Romantics Outfit

Personally I think Andrew had the best dress sense in the house. But I’ve picked his rock/ New Romantics outfit as a highlight:

Ellie’s Teal Dress

Ellie’s teal dress in the house was admired by me, my mum and my sister. She very much got this right. Sadly I couldn’t find a pic of it but I had to mention it.

Sue’s Hippie-Style Dress

Sue has great style. Very oriental and very colourful so it was difficult to pick one outfit but I’ve picked this hippie-style dress below:

Hannah & Deborah

Again Hannah and Deborah have many great outfits to choose from but I have chosen their matching gold outfits as a highlight:

Joe’s Black Catwalk-Style Outfit

Joe has great style and I’ve picked this outfit with his eviction outfit a close second:

Savannah’s Eviction Outfit

I loved Savannah’s very stylish eviction outfit below:

Big Brother: The Aftermath

Last night Isabelle Warburton was revealed as the new Big Brother winner. Following her win she revealed that she will help raise awareness of mental health conditions as she knows people who have been affected by them.

‘I was thinking [of donating to] something like Mind my brother ran for them in the London Marathon so something along the lines of that would be good. I just think that mental health is pretty neglected because people don’t see it physically, a broken leg is given more attention than something in people’s head. It’s so important to raise awareness. I’d never say I’d suffered from anything severe but I do know people who have.’

As someone who knew someone very close to me who suffered from depression I think this is great and very admirable and I know exactly where she’s coming from. Even in this day and age sadly there is still s stigma which surrounds mental health issues which is very sad and very wrong.

Meanwhile second chance housemate winner Andrew Cruickshanks revealed during his interview with Emma Willis that he would be donating some of his winning money towards helping people living in poverty in Ghana. Again very admirable.

4th place finalist Tom Barber revealed how he left the house days before the final to go to hospital for a brain scan. Speaking about his bromance with fellow contestant Kieran Lee he said,

“I love him to bits, he helped me through a lot. I got ill, I had to go out and have a brain scan and stuff, ear infection, tonsillitis. I was like, ‘I can’t go any longer’ and [Kieran] was like, ‘You’ve got a couple of days left so keep going’. So, massively, I love him.”

3rd place finalist Deborah Agboola told Rylan Clark-Neal that she and Kieran were just friends and has said she would love her own TV show. I’d definitely watch it.

Runner-up Raph Korine said his ideal guy was,

‘Someone interested in culture, someone who is confident. Confidence is important’.

Raph added that ‘a nice smile’ would be top of his list when it comes to looks.

Talking of finding love in the future he said,

‘You shouldn’t be looking for love – if it comes to you it comes to you – if you look for it too much you’re focusing on the wrong things.’

Exactly Raph!

Raph also said that he hoped to show the diversity in the gay community.

‘There are many different types of gay people, you don’t have to be a certain way. I came out because I wanted to be comfortable within myself. People expect that I’m straight. I don’t want people to assume things about me.’

Meanwhile it has been reported that contestant Simone Reed was removed from the final after allegedly spitting at Andrew Cruickshanks following his exit from the house.

On a more happy note, contestant Hannah Agboola posted a video on her Twitter page of herself, her sister Deborah and Raph singing and dancing at the aftershow party to Hannah’s theme tune in the house Love, Peace and Harmony. That was fun to watch.

Hope everyone had a fantastic night and thanks to everyone involved for a great show! 🙂

Watch the moment Isabelle won here:

Well done Isabelle and all the finalists! 🙂

And well done Raph & Andrew for brilliantly representing the LGBTQ+ community from someone who is also part of the LGBTQ+ community. 🙂

Isabelle Wins Big Brother!

The Big Brother final took place tonight and Isabelle Warburton was crowned the winner. Raph Korine was second followed by Deborah Agboola in 3rd and Tom Barber in 4th with second chance housemate winner Andrew coming out of the house first.

Well done Isabelle and also well done to Raph who did me proud coming second. Well done to Deborah, Tom and Andrew too.

Thank you Raph for representing the LGBTQ+ community, all the nerds, BB fans and all non-English people brilliantly as someone who is all four. Love you Raph. Well done! 🙂

Why Raph Korine Is My BBUK Winner …

Well the BB final is on it’s way and soon the winner will be crowned. My winner is Raph who I have loved in it from the start. The way things look he might not win but no matter what he is my winner this series. This blog post is why …

I loved that when Arthur was been bullied and isolated early on the show Raph didn’t get involved with the bullying and isolation and was a good friend to Arthur. Too many people in life to save their own skins in these situations tend to join the majority and I thought it was a lovely representation of Raph as a person that he didn’t. It was also very brave.

I think he has been a very consistent housemate. If people aren’t been themselves they tend to get found out after a while in there and he has never changed. He has a lovely, kind personality which is also very nerdy and shy. And it’s personal taste really but I’m more drawn to like personalities like that. Talking about his personality I must bring up something Rylan said on BBBOTS the other night. Now I love Rylan too but his comment about Raph been “odd” and an “oddball” was disgusting. And I didn’t feel it was meant in a good way even though he tried to backtrack and say it was. Otherwise he wouldn’t have said “I hate to say it …” beforehand. While I have a huge Rylan fan since X Factor I do believe we have to value the diversity of personalities in the world and there is absolutely nothing wrong with been a nerdy, shy guy who is not constantly roaring, cursing and going on about sex all the time. Raph is most certainly not odd or an oddball, he’s just a nice guy on a TV show.

I like that he’s a Big Brother fan and even more so that he admitted he is. And I think he genuinely is a Big Brother fan because he’s a member of the This Is Big Brother forum and he has a huge knowledge of the show. I think he was determined to get on the show and fair dues to him he did and is now in the final. Is he a gameplayer? Of course he is, he’s in a gameshow. I wouldn’t expect him to admit he was because for some reason gameplaying is a dirty word in Big Brother even though it is a game. But of course he is but they all are and I wouldn’t expect any of them to be anything else in a gameshow. But a gameplayer doesn’t mean that someone isn’t a nice person.

I like that Raph doesn’t isolate anyone and that he always stands up for himself but also doesn’t make a big scene out of it for TV. His friendships have been great to watch in there with Chanelle, Deborah, Hannah, Sukhvinder, Imran and in the latter part Tom and his diary rooms have been great viewing as has his attempted matchmaking between Deborah and Kieran. He’s just an all-round nice lad and is my winner. But whatever happens he has done great regardless.

Big Brother Blog 5!

We have our last 4 plus Andrew and so it is fitting to now discuss the five finalists …

Isabelle

A lovely girl who will probably win but who wouldn’t be my winner. I loved her in the Lotan situation and she’s a nice girl. But other than that I can’t find anything that makes her my winner. I wasn’t fond of how she treated Simone with Chanelle and the whole “selfless” thing drives me up the wall as does all this talking about her insecurities. We all have insecurities, everyone in that house has insecurities, the last week leading up to a final to win £65,000 is not the time to bring them out. A very intelligent girl and a savvy gameplayer. Has had fake moments for certain but she is a nice girl at the back of it and if she does win I wish her all the best of luck.

Tom

Tom has won me around. I didn’t like him to begin with but I have got to see Tom’s true personality as time has went on and I have got to like him. Since Lotan and Joe have went Tom has really came into his own and I’m glad he made the final. His friendship with Kieran has been lovely to watch.

Deborah

Deborah is a lovely girl. Very down-to-earth. While Raph is my winner I wouldn’t be disapointed if Deborah won. Her relationship with her sister Hannah has been beautiful to watch in the house and her sort of romance with Kieran has been brilliant to watch too. Very sweet and lovely, she would be a most deserving winner.

Raph

Ah Raph, we’ve been on a journey together for sure! 🙂 Again a lovely, down-to-earth lad who has been a fantastic housemate and should be very proud of himself. The way he stood by Arthur at the beginning when Arthur was been bullied and isolated was wonderful and he has been consistent throughout. Whatever happens Raph is my winner.

Andrew

So Andrew can’t win but is coming out with £33,900. Not bad, eh? Dramatic is an understatement for Andrew but I think he’s a nice lad and I’m very pleased for him for getting the money. I think he’ll do great things for his hairdressing career with the money and I wish him all the best.
