Reason Review!

Reason (2015) is a short film directed by Bruno Ilogti and written by Marcela Jacobina. The story, which was inspired by Philosophical Investigations (1953), Ludwig Wittgenstein’s posthumous work, follows Gemma (played by Andreja Pejic), a model living in New York who goes to therapist Clement Belrose (played by Anna Mouglalis) because she sees her career as been superficial and feels guilty for not being content with her life which others wish to have.

Andreja Pejic’s portrayal of Gemma is stunning and very emotive. We are brought into the story and the deepness of Gemma’s emotions through her excellent performance and expressiveness. Anna Mouglalis’ performance is also excellent and together their scenes are sublime and filled with emotion and occasional humour. It is a well-written story which tosses the usual stereotype of a model on it’s head. Gemma feels guilty about achieving what she has because she doesn’t feel she deserves it or she is doing anything worthwhile and it is through this vulnerability in the character that viewers can connect with her. It is very human and we all feel it in one way or another. The way the film is shot is also beautifully done.

Andreja Pejic Lands First Fashion Magazine Cover With Marie Claire Spain Following Her Gender Reassignment Surgery

Andreja Pejic has landed her first magazine cover with Marie Claire Spain following her gender reassignment surgery. The 24-year-old model appears on the magazine’s cover for their March 2016 edition looking very beautiful in a sheer crocheted dress with the headline next to her reading “Romper El Tabú” (“Breaking the Taboo”). Pejic appears in an eight-page spread and four-page cover story entitled, “Fuera De La Crisálida” (“Out of the Chrysalis.”)

Andreja was also named Marie Claire Spain’s Model of the Year. Past winners of the prestigious accolade include Saskia de Brauw, Irina Shayk, Gemma Ward, Arizona Muse, Doutzen Kroes, Linda Evangelista and Anja Rubik.

Speaking of her win, Andreja said,

“Receiving the ‘Model Of The Year’ award from Marie Claire Spain with previous title-holders – which include some of my favorite models like Saskia, Anja, Arizona, Gemma and Linda – I mean, need I really explain!? It feels beyond to have my name follow and gives me hope in showing that girls like us are girls that are just as good!”

She also recently spoke at the Time To THRIVE Conference, which took place on Valentine’s Day in Texas, about growing up, her journey to realising she was a transgender woman and her inspiring campaign with Kenneth Cole. The part where she said she was a loner in school and read a lot reminded me of my own experiences. She gave a really interesting and articulate speech at the conference which you can view below:

The Amazing Photography Of Damon Baker!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Fashion photographer Damon Baker hails from a small town in Worcestershire in England and like many people from small towns the 25-year-old photographer is making a big mark in his chosen creative field of fashion photography. He has already photographed Jared Leto, Shannon Leto, James Franco, Courtney Love, Michelle Williams, Ellie Goulding, Mark Ronson, Jonathan Groff, Mr Hudson, Candice Huffine, Jourdan Dunn, Cara Delevingne, George Shelley, Agyness Deyn, Jessie J, David Gandy, Paris Hilton and Fearne Cotton amongst many more and has three very regular muses that he photographs Andreja Pejic, Rita Ora and Taylor Swift.

The three things that hit you instantly about Baker’s photography or at least hit me instantly are the naturalness he seems to bring out of his subjects, the retro feel and the sense that there is a narrative to the photographs. It’s all very well taking pictures that look visually brilliant which Baker does but if there’s no sense of story that drags you into the photograph well there’s not much point, is there? And Baker in his work certainly doesn’t overlook this aspect. Possibly it’s the writer in me that loves a sense of narrative in everything.

The Amazing Style Of Andreja Pejic

Stunning Bosnian model Andreja Pejic’s style is simply breathtaking. She has incorporated many different styles such as rock, gothic, hippie and classic/elegant into her look over the years.

But Miss Pejic doesn’t just excel in the fashion stakes when it comes to her look. She has also created her own set of eyeshadows with Make Up For Ever when she became the first transgender model to be the face of a major cosmetics brand after been the first transgender model to be profiled by Vogue also.

And she has also had many amazing hairstyles that we’ve all tried to copy (successfully or unsuccessfully tried is another matter! :-))

Antonia Dell’Atte

Yet another Antonia Dell’Atte woman going against the grain on the night in this wonderfully quirky outfit.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo may not have had a good day with Real Madrid in their match yesterday against Barcelona but he looked great at the awards so there’s some consolation.

Andreja Pejic

Model Andreja Pejic always looks stunning and this printed gown she wore to the recent event is no exception. I also love the silver shoes. My favourite outfit from the night. I have similar shoes, now I’ve just got to find the dress. Well a budget version of the dress. 🙂 Stunning, perfect.

Model Toni Garrn’s dress for the night was understated and beautiful. It was perfectly paired with the flowing earrings she wore.

Sara Sampaio

I loved the elegant quality of Sara Sampaio’s dress.

Sharina Gutierrez

Sharina Guierrez’s outfit was stunningly put together. I especially loved the little black shrug. Also the whole monochrome theme throughout the outfit really worked.

Best Dressed Gents

Looking uber cool the stunning Usher looked dapper at the event.

Nick Cannon

I love the whole quirky mixed with aristocratic style of this outfit that Nick Cannon wore.

I love the colour and uniqueness of singer Billy Porter’s suit.

Rubin Singer

Rubin Singer’s understated suit looked very dapper on him.

The Angel Ball 2015 raised $3.6 Million for Cancer Research. Great cause. Well done everyone! 🙂

Andreja Pejic Celebrates Her New Kenneth Cole Campaign!

Andreja Pejic recently celebrated her new ads for Kenneth Cole at his new store on the Bowery at Bond Street looking beautiful in a casual chic outfit and a hippie-style headscarf and by going to a private dinner at Bar Primi with Alan Cumming, Bryan Greenberg and Vanessa Williams.

Pejic said of the new ads,

“I’ve seen it all around the city. It’s kind of cool to see your face on a big billboard in the city you came to to make your dream happen. You don’t want to walk around the city looking average. You feel like you have to live up to that billboard.”

Pejic is the newest face of Kenneth Cole ‘ The Courageous Class’ campaign series. In the exclusive video for the campaign she speaks about her personal journey with trans identity, being true to herself and her modelling career. Pejic joins fellow campaign stars Rhymefest, Topaz Page-Green, Jamie Clarke and Jon Rose.

Giles Autumn/Winter 2015

Taking place in the old Central Saint Martins college building, the Giles Autumn/Winter 2015 collection looked stunning. Modelled by top models including Andreja Pejic in her first runway show since undergoing gender reassignment surgery to become a woman, Erin O’Connor, Jessica Stam, Kendall Jenner and Lily Donaldson, the collection had a very understated beauty to it for the most part. I loved the black Victorian looks which just oozed effortless beauty. There was also a few splashes of colour on show which were beautiful too. It is a very elegant collection but it has that gothic, vampy twist too so it is the kind of collection which would suit many tastes. The make-up is stunning too. The black lipstick is amazing. I love the gothic and unique vibe of that.
