Poem: Heart & Brain

Heart balanced between strings,

fragile but beating strongly,

bleeding but brimming with fire,

life calling,

I answered the call,

there was no going back,

brain all over the place

but brain is focused,

love is perfection,

happiness is perfection,

I choose these things,

I choose living,

not obeying those rules

which destroy me

just to build someone else’s power,

I matter

and my heart and brain agree.
