Hi everyone! 🙂
Here is my five suggestions for this week.
First up is episode 30 in Crash Course’s Black American History series with Clint Smith. In this episode Clint talks about Zora Neale Hurston. Incredibly interesting story of a woman who used her amazing talents for so much good.
Secondly we have episode 31 in Crash Course’s Black American History series with Clint Smith. In this episode Clint talks about the role black Americans played in World War II from going to war to working in the mail rooms. Included in this episode is the amazing contributions of people like Gertrude Maragritte Ivory-Bertram and Charity Adams.
Next up we have Iman’s beauty tips for Vogue’s YouTube channel. Her turmeric mask is superb and I love all her beauty tips. She speaks about how keeping your skin well in your twenties serves you later in life. She also speaks about what it was like being a model of color and why she found it so important to start her beauty brand. So interesting.
Next up we have Janet Jackson talking about many of her music videos for Allure’s YouTube channel. It was so great hearing all Janet’s behind-the-scenes stories and about everyone she worked with and the inspirations for the videos. We also get to hear a lot about her life while she was making the videos which was very interesting. The story about the earring is just too cute too as someone who loves animals.
Finally for today we have Ashanti’s performance of many of her songs from the Soul Train Awards 2021 where she very deservedly won the Lady Of Soul Award. She is joined during the medley by Fat Joe and Ja Rule. Amazing performance. Sure to get you dancing.
