Portugal have won the European Championship for the first time beating host nation France 1-0 in extra-time in Paris.
It was a night of ups and downs for Portugal after captain Cristiano Ronaldo went off injured in the first half with a knee injury. The team then bravely worked hard together to pull off the deserved victory on the night. They were rewarded for their hard work with a goal in extra-time from Eder who scored his first competitive goal for his country. France had no reply.
The last time Portugal reached the final was 12 years ago when they themselves were the host nation and were beaten by Greece 1-0.
