So The Voice UK enters it’s knockouts stage this weekend with the singers whittled down to the last 32 vying for a spot in the live shows. In preparation I have complied my eight tips for Voice glory this season below:
I was so glad that Essex’s Jordan Gray returned for the battles after one of Paloma’s team sadly had to pull out because I loved her audition of Bob Dylan’s Just Like a Woman. Her battle with Theo Llewellyn singing This Woman’s Work was one of the best battles this series. Also I’m addicted to her song Hang With The Happiness. She is definitely my winner this season.
Hartlepool’s Rick Snowdon wowed us all in his blind audition with a rock version of I Put a Spell on You. The gravelly rock tone of his voice is quite magical and in ballads has an ethereal type of quality. But in his battle with Bradley Waterman he showed us that his voice is a very versatile rock voice. He is my second favourite in this year’s show.
Deano Boroczky’s stunning version of You Do Something To Me ensured his spot at the battle rounds where he took on Megan Reece in his battle singing I Try which ensured his spot at knockouts. He has a very unique vocal which sounds amazing.
Cody Frost finished the first blind auditions of the new series on a high with her version of Lay All Your Love On Me before impressing once again in her battle with Heather Cameron-Hayes ensuring that she is currently joint favourite to win the show.
Harry Fisher has a wonderful soulful voice and impressed in his audition with Let It Go. Next he took on Charley Birkin in his battle when they sang I Can’t Stop Loving You which booked his place in the knockouts.
Vangelis Polydorou’s rendition of Do You Really Want To Hurt Me was certainly a risk considering Boy George knew the song inside out but his beautiful arrangement of the song impressed the man himself and ensured his place on George’s team. He impressed once again in his battle with Melissa Cavanagh to book his place at the knockouts.
Alaric’s beautiful vocal of Broken Vow ensured his place on team Ricky before his battle with Chloe Castro which was one of the best battles this year. When Ricky chose to keep Chloe, George stole Alaric booking his place in the knockouts.
Rachel Ann ensured her place at the battles following her version of In for the Kill in her audition before taking on Cork’s Aine Carroll in the battles singing This Is The Last Time which ensured her spot at the knockouts.
