Poem: Heart of Glass

Outside you try to appear strong,
But inside is the softness
That begs don’t hurt me
And I won’t hurt you either.
It is unrequited,
I accept the dent,
The dent on my heart
Which is like a scratch,
A scratch on glass,
Fragile but resistent.
