Poem: Time Had Moved On

Standing by the window
He watched her
Flicking through those
Cards with his face on them
While sitting at the kitchen table.
How he longed to hold her
But time had moved on.

She placed the cards
Back in the box.
It was too painful
To look at him now.
The world was torture
Sometimes.
Now that time had moved on.

He took one last look at her,
His world and his life.
He hoped she could move on,
Always told her to if
Something happened.
Then he descended into heaven
Because time had moved on.
