The Splash Final!

On Saturday I got to see the final of Splash! I hadn’t the channel to see the rest of the show so it was brilliant to get to see the final.

The four finalists our very own Keith Duffy, Richard Whitehead, Dan Osborne and Perri Kiely did an individual dive before doing a dive with show mentor Tom Daley. Perri really excelled at both and was a deserving winner. The lads from Diversity were there to cheer him on and celebrate when he won.

Tom lifts Perri up after his win!

There was also a historic, fab moment when Whitehead and Daley did their dive together. It was the first time an Olympian and a Paralympian had dived together on TV.

The historic moment when Richard and Tom Dived together.

Patriotic Keith wore diving trunks with the Irish flag on them while Dan donned some sparkley ones and looked sexy as always. When he and Daley, who wore a sexy black pair, did their dive together I thought I was in heaven! Now that is good Saturday night television! Two fit guys with barely anything on! Thank you very much ITV! Happy days! 🙂

There was also a fantastic performance of Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend by the professional divers including Tom who ended the performance by doing a split into the pool.

It was a great final and well done Perri! Well deserved! 🙂

Here is the final part of my fanfic The Strength of Our Love. Hope you enjoy! 🙂

Jaymi Hensley!

George Shelley!

George Shelley!

Standing outside the tour bus George waited for Jaymi to arrive. He couldn’t wait to spend his first day both dating and working with Jaymi since they had signed their record contract. Jaymi soon arrived looking snazzy in Topman clothes and urban style runners.
“You look amazing.”, George smiled.
“So do you babe.”
“I’m just wearing a t-shirt and jeans.”
“Doesn’t matter. You always look amazing.”
They kiss gently.
“So this is the tour bus?”
“Yeah.”
“Can you believe it George?! An actual tour bus?!”, Jaymi said excitedly.
“Yeah. I seen something like that in our contract after all!”, George smiled.
Jaymi rolled his eyes and grinned.
“You know what I mean Smarty Pants!”
“Yeah. I love you Jaymi.”
“I love you too George.”
They kiss again. Josh and JJ come along.
“Oh you two get a room!”, Josh smiles and George and Jaymi smile and the four of them get on the tour bus.

The End.

I hope you all enjoyed it! 🙂

Sir Tom Finney Dies aged 91. May He Rest In Peace

Sir Tom Finney has died, aged 91. May he rest in peace.

Sir Tom Finney has died, aged 91. May he rest in peace.

Football legend Sir Tom Finney has died at the age of 91. The star spent his whole career with Preston North End and was nicknamed the Preston Plumber, a nickname he got from his father who insisted he learn the family trade as an apprentice before turning pro. .

He won 76 caps and scored 30 goals for England while the winger scored 210 goals for Preston and was Footballer of the Year in 1954 and 1957 becoming the first person to land the award twice.

He was knighted in 1998 and was England’s oldest living international before his death.

Gary Lineker was one of the people who paid tribute to the former footballer on his Twitter page saying,

“Sir Tom Finney has left us. One of the greatest players this country has ever seen, and a true gentleman. #RIP.”

While former Everton footballer Peter Reid wrote: “Sir Tom Finney, gentleman. Proper footballer.”

Preston North End said the club had found out about the “extremely sad news” of the legend’s death and said in a statement of their long-serving player: “Sir Tom was the greatest player to ever play for Preston North End and one of the all time greats for England. The thoughts of everyone at the Club, and those connected with it, are with his family at this time.”

Sir Tom served as the club’s president at Preston North End in his later life and the Deepdale stadium is situated on Sir Tom Finney Way while the ground’s old West Stand was renamed the Sir Tom Finney stand in 1995 and his image is on its seats

He is survived by his two children, Brian and Barbara, from his marriage to Elsie Noblett, who died from Alzheimer’s in 2004.

My condolences are with all his loved ones at this sad time especially his two children. May he rest in peace.

Ellen made the brave decision to come out as gay

Actress Ellen Page has revealed that she is a lesbian saying,

“I am tired of hiding and I am tired of lying by omission.”

The 26-year-old star, was nominated for an Oscar for her part in Juno, came out at a Las Vegas conference for gay teenagers.

“I’m here today because I am gay. And because … maybe I can make a difference,” she said. “To help others have an easier and more hopeful time. Regardless, for me, I feel a personal obligation and a social responsibility.”

She has also starred in Inception, Peacock, Hard Candy and To Rome with Love and X-Men: The Last Stand and she is also currently working on Freeheld which is a drama about a terminally ill police detective and her struggle to assign her retirement benefits to her lesbian lover, who will be played by Julianne Moore.

Page also spoke in her speech about her suffering for years because she was scared to go public about her sexuality.

“My spirit suffered, my mental health suffered and my relationships suffered. And I’m standing here today, with all of you, on the other side of all that pain.”

Time to THRIVE organiser Human Rights Campaign tweeted the news and wrote: ‘Congratulations, @EllenPage for taking the steps to live openly and come out as lesbian. #comingout #timetoTHRIVE (sic).’

Page in her speech also praised others like athlete Michael Sam, who revealed he was gay this month and he could become the National Football League’s first openly homosexual player.

Congrats Ellen on been so brave. I’m glad you’ve come out the other side of all your pain. Best of luck with everything.

Dancing on Ice Highlights Week 7!

Suzanne and Matt left Dancing on Ice this week!

Suzanne and Matt left Dancing on Ice this week!

Dancing on Ice entered it’s latter stages this week as we waved au revoir to Suzanne and Matt.

Ray and Maria as always were sublime scoring a score of 40.

Judge Robin Cousins said Quinn was an Olympic standard skater while fellow judge Jason Gardiner said: “That, my boy, is dancing on ice. It was sublime to watch.”

There was also a skating duel between the girls who skated to The Bangles’ Walk Like An Egyptian while the boys’ skated to Uptown Girl by Billy Joel, with a clean sweep of judges deciding theirs was their favourite. This ensured that the boys had their points doubled.

The skate-off was between Suzanne and Matt and Kyran and Nina with the judges opting to save Kyran and Nina.

Hard luck to Suzanne and Matt!

A hero of mine Cork artist Patrick Scott died aged 93. May he rest in peace.

The artist who was an amazing talent and produced a wealth of amazing pieces throughout his life was a shining beacon for displaying Irish artistic talent and his work was set to be honoured a day after his death with a huge and deserved retrospective on his life is set to take place at the Irish Museum of Modern Art in Carlow. With the blessing of his husband Eric Pearse and the rest of his family, the ‘Patrick Scott: Image Space Light’ took place with IMMA presenting the first part of the retrospective up to 1970 and VISUAL Centre for Contemporary Art bringing it up to now.

IMMA said of his passing: “Patrick Scott has been a defining figure of Irish art for over 70 years and the retrospective exhibition due to open tomorrow is testament to his extraordinary career, life and achievements as an artist. He will be sorely missed by the arts community and IMMA is honoured to pay tribute to one of Ireland’s most important artists with this major exhibition on which Patrick Scott worked closely with the curator Christina Kennedy, Head of Collections, IMMA.”

My condolences are with his husband Eric and all his other loved ones at this sad time.
