I watched current king of the jungle Westlife star Kian Egan talking on The Late Late Show on RTE over here in Ireland this week.
Egan, from Sligo, spoke about his time in the jungle saying that his biggest challenges while participating in the ITV show were missing loved ones, the lack of food and been cut off from society. He spoke about how he prayed to his deceased father Kevin every night while he was in the jungle.
His mother Patricia, his brother and his sisters were in the audience and his mum spoke. She spoke about how she wasn’t worried about Kian going into the jungle because she knew he was an adventurer but that she was worried that he wouldn’t take care of his skin and get sunburn. Kian also revealed that his mum sent him a sent saying how his father would have been proud of him the jungle and that he reminded her of his dad.
The moment when he seen Jodi in the jungle was played and Kian revealed how he knew when he seen Jodi there that everything outside with his son Koa and all his loved ones was Ok and settled. He spoke about how listening to fellow campmates Alfonso Ribeiro and Vincent Simone talk about recently having babies made him broody to want to have another child with Jodi.
Egan also spoke about the differences in the fame he had in Westlife and the fame he had since leaving I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here’s jungle. He revealed that when he was in Westlife he would get people saying that they liked his music but now he would get people saying that they thought he was a really nice person.
He spoke about fellow campmate Joey Essex and how he advised Joey to save more money whilst in the jungle. He spoke about how Joey had a Gucci pair of shorts for a sum of 350 while his shorts which looked identical were a sum of 50. And then we seen Kian’s jackets throughout the years, some of which were expensive but Kian was quick to point out he didn’t choose them all, and an inexpensive jacket which he wore in Grease when he was in secondary school.
He joked presenter Ryan Tubrity when asked what he hoped for next, “to stand up and he’d show him.” joking that he wanted his job.
Catch Kian on The Voice of Ireland on RTE every Sunday!
